About Us: Bluewater Restoration is a professional restoration and general contracting corporation in northeast North Carolina for more than 30 years. We provide emergency service, restoration, and reconstruction service for residential and commercial property due to water, fire, mold, sort, and other disasters.
Position Summary: The estimator serves as a lead estimator, assistant for project management, and quality control adviser for our team as an experienced professional in all types of disaster services. The position will complete estimates consistent within the Xactimate software program and our industry standards of care. This position will be a defender of our reports, our work, and our reputation, and in this position, you will have a large role in our quality control.
- Essential Duties / Responsibilities: Completes invoices accurately and timely within the Xactimate estimation platform I in accordance with estimating guidelines, industry standards, and best practices. Assists with ongoing training of other support team members in processes related to estimation scope of work, and adherence to the standards of care set forth by the IICRC.
- Assisting other project managers and employees with best practices, while offering solutions to complex mitigation and remediation scope and service is an essential aspect of this position. This person is the vanguard of the IICRC standard of care within our company.
- Collection, recording, and sharing data relating to various components of the estimates according to the priorities of the company, customer, and insurance carriers is essential to this position’s requirements. Furthermore, it is expected that the estimator communicates effectively with all members of our team, customers, and insurance professionals. All managerial staff, including the estimator, will share a rotational responsibility to answer weekend calls for business.

- Operational knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, One Drive, Share Point, Teams, and more)
- Professionally competent in the Xactimate estimation platform
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills
- Typing skills
- Technology Skills,
- Learn and operate our primary operating systems and platforms
- Create documents and invoices
- Write the review estimate for mitigation, reconstruction, contents, and structure
- Communicate with all parties involved in the process regularly and without delay
- Operate basic office equipment (fax, scanner, printer, VoiP system, computers, etc)
- Work independently, think for yourself, work effectively and with due diligence
- Hold or can be successful in obtaining basis restoration industry certifications such as WRT, ASD, AMRT and more
- Exemplifies stress management, professional composure, and discourse
- Master of problem solving and conflict resolution, must be TEAM player
- Maintain confidentiality
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of experience in the restoration industry or related field or claim experience
- Strong skillset within Xactimate Pro Software and at least 3 years of experience in with Xactimate platform
- Experience in the restoration industry regarding water and fire mitigation, mold remediation, lead, sewage back up, crime scene cleanup, contents cleaning, contents packing, structural drying, and reconstruction
- 3 + yrs experience in claims
- 3+ yrs of Xactimate estimating experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in insurance claims or related field
- This is a full-time, permanent position
