September 20 from 1-6pm
Currituck County Rural Center in Powells Point

The old dog track in Moyock, hog farms, mom and pop stores, county-wide picnics, 4-H Camp Coleman, the Grave Digger crossing the Currituck Sound… If any of this is familiar to you, you might be from Currituck!
We’d like to invite natives and visitors alike to celebrate Currituck Heritage and the centennial of Cooperative Extension at this year’s Currituck Heritage Festival. The event will be held on Saturday, September 20 from 1-6pm at the Currituck County Rural Center in Powells Point. The day will begin with a re-creation of the annual county farm picnic and will continue with live music, exhibits, a Currituck history timeline, vendors, contests and activities for the whole family in a beautiful setting. The event will end with a community barn dance with musical guest Out ‘N The Cold from 4-6pm.
Come and just enjoy the day or register for one of the many contests from Corn Shucking, to the Homegrown and Handmade contests or the Little and Junior Miss Currituck pageants. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities, vendor space or contests contact the Currituck Extension Office at 232-2261. You can also visit the site online at go.ncsu.edu/currituckheritage.
