For 31 years, the Annual Walk for Hunger has been a part of Elizabeth City's downtown every October. It is a way for the entire community to show their support for the fight against hunger and to come together in solidarity for this cause.
We invite you to participate in this year’s annual Walk for Hunger onSUNDAY, OCTOBER 12TH, 2014 . This event is the flagship fundraiser for the Food Bank of the Albemarle and is an important part of rescuing and delivering food to hungry people all across northeast North Carolina.
Here’s how YOU can get involved:
• GATHER your friends, family and co-workers and form a Walk for Hunger team.
• FUNDRAISE! There are many ways to raise money as a team to help feed our hungry neighbors in need - and you can be creative! Maybe it is a yard sale, asking for sponsors for your team or organizing an event to benefit your team.
• WALK! Join us for a fun filled day and 4 mile walk on Sunday, October 12th at the Museum of the Albemarle.
Interested in organizing a WALK FOR HUNGER TEAM? Contact Resource Development Coordinator, Annya Soucy, at 252.335.4035 x 113 or email asoucy@feedingamerica.org for more information on managing and fundraising for a Walk for Hunger team.
When you participate in the Walk for Hunger, you are MAKING A DIFFERENCE in the life of someone in need.
